For some reason a lot of people find this site, Back Pain Buzz (the back pain blog of Just Ask Dr. Dan), and think I’m the doctor that is going to make it possible for them to treat themselves at home. Not True. You’re not looking for answers to your pain problem if it’s a simple one…It would have already healed and gone by now.
So don’t go thinking you’ve got good odds of being your own doctor and succeeding. Odds are you ARE going to need some expert medical help…BUT, It IS possible to short-cut and speed-up that process.
More long-lasting pain problems–neck pain, whiplash or back pain–require you go see a doctor…and usually a good physical therapist. I can coach you in how to do that both faster – and better.
So, WARNING #1 - You CAN’T safely be your own doctor. Don’t even THINK about treating yourself. It doesn’t work.
I AM a nice guy, with a big heart and a good doctor (and the web’s leading commentator on bone, joint and muscle pain), BUT
WARNING #2 – I’M NOT YOUR DOCTOR. Medical treatment requires a Physician-Patient RELATIONSHIP: Face-to-Face. Odds are I’m hundreds, or even thousands of miles from you, so that’s not me.
WARNING #3 – So, what CAN I Do for You? It’s simple really, I can COACH you. I can find, read and digest the dozens of medical journals, great (and heavy) textbooks, go to specialty-society meetings and cover all the good information on the latest strategies and treatments for things like:
- Neck Pain
- Whiplash Injury
- Back Pain
- Shoulder Pain
- Knee Pain
And I can explain to you in clear everyday terms what it is you need to know about your pain to enable you to short-cut the system and to talk both efficiently and effectively about your pain problems with your own doctor. Effective Open & Informed Dialogue with YOUR Treatment Team is a KEY Fundamental!
Why do you need me? When your own Doc only has 3-4 minutes to spare, you MUST arrive prepared, or you’ll likely leave Confused and Unsure, OR . . .
with Acute Back Pain, for example, MOST Doctors are still using the outmoded “Conventional Medical Approach” as described in the NASS/AAOS publication Orthopedic Knowledge Update, Spine, Volumes 2 and 3. Experts say: That means their “usual” approach can increase your pain and increase your odds of chronic or recurrent back pain. I want to help you STOP that, and also to help you get on track with the “NEW approach” that gives you only “hours-to-days” to get pain-relief…the treatment strategy outlined in the OKU-Spine and numerous other recent journals and texts now.
WARNING: I’ve gone to a great deal of work to give you good, useful content. Use all this information I provide At Your Own Risk, and ONLY in the context of your own PERSONAL doctor-patient relationship.
I’m NOT Your Doctor…but a Medical Information Facilitator – a Coach.
I Guarantee YOUR SATISFACTION With My Products – Or Your Money Back.
Since I Don’t Know YOUR Case Specifics, I CANNOT Guarantee Your Success. THAT Depends on What YOU Bring to the Table.
I Mean: “Your Mileage May Vary.”
Thanks, and God Bless You and Yours,
